Benjamin B. Weisiger, stated: Hugh Lee is first noted in the Charles City County records in 1692 as "Hugh Lee, Jr." He lived in Bristol Parish Swamp and was the surveyor of highways there in 1715. In that year, he and his brother in law petitioned the court re estate of his father in law, Samuel Tatum.
