James William Colson

There are Union Parish, Louisiana census records for 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 for James W. Colson.

...The Colesons that I found in the 1870 and 1880 Union Parish La census record appear to be John's father, James W Coleson and his family and a James Marion Coleson. The latter is not the son of James W so must be a brother. I did also learn that the James Marion Coleson was married to Josephine Stevens and they went from Union Parish to Jasper Co Tx sometime after the 1880 Union Parish census. James Marion Coleson had a son named John B Coleson so I assume he was related to the John B Coleson who married Nancy Stokes.
Another interesting bit of information in the 1870 Union Parish census is a Prudence Coleson age 9 and living with the family of Frank Perdue. Could this possibly be the daughter of John B Coleson and Nancy Stokes. Frank Perdue/Pardue was related to Eliza Slawon Pardue's first husband....
