Josiah Busby

Two marriage records found:
His 1st wife died Feb 1885. #1 Matthew Carter to Francis Coats in 1865 in Catahoula Parish #2 Matthew Carter to Martha A. F. Hendricks (thought to be Martha Ann Francis Frost Hendricks) in 186023 April 1885 Josiah Busby married Mrs. Francis Carter - Vol D page 157. Possibly buried in Old Union Cemetery, in western Caldwell Parish, near Cotton Plant buried under the name of Mrs. Martha Busby: July, 1848 - January 4, 1903 - see Caldwell Parish Garden of Memories.
No conclusive evidence for her maiden name or parents. She could be Francis Frost with Father being James Frost OR She could be Francis Coats with Father Being Morgan Coats

Lucy Duly } To : Gift } Attala County Mississippi April 6, 1873 Emily Hodges Et al} I, Lucy Duly being in Sound mind and Memory do make this My last Will and Testament To wit I give and bequeath to My Daughter Mrs. Emily Hodges Seven head of cattle to wit three cows Two with young Calf and three yearlings, and I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mrs. Eliza Young one cow & calf one thirty five dollar note on Shepard Roane due for Land rent the first day of January 1874, One double woven Counterpane, and one new quilt And, I give and bequeath to my daughter Mrs. Virginia Reynolds one cow and Bed Sted & Feather & Straw Bed three Sheets two pillows & four Slips five quilts And I further give and bequeath Two Daughters Emily Hodge and Virginia Reynolds all of my wearing apparel and other house hold furniture, not named in this and I give and bequeath to my Grand Son Edward Jackson Weems one black Mule and I further request that Should I not be among the living on the first day of January 1874 that My Land to wit W « of SE ¬ Section Seven in Township fourteen Range 9 East in Attala County Shall be put up and sold to the highest bidder and the money divided equally between my five children. Hodge one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing deed who being first duly Sworn deposeth and saith that he Saw the above named Lucy Duley whose name is Subscribed thereto, Sign, Seal and deliver the Same to the above named parties and that he Saw the other Subscribing witness M. L. Williams Sign the Same in the presence of the Said Lucy Duley and in the presence of each other on the day and year therein named.
