SCMAR, Vol. VIII, Summer 1980, No. 3, p.181: NETTLES-BASS-CUSACK-VICARIS. Mrs. David Hamrick (7303 18th Ave. NW, Bradenton, Fla. 33505) needs death date and parentage of Lucy Bass (b) 11 Mar. 1742. She married Zachariah Nettles 1737-1803 of Darlington Dist. Zachariah's parents are said to be George Nettles and Eliza Cusack. Who were their other children and their parents? Believe George to be the son of Robert Nettles and Mary Vicaris.

Nettles' land bordered on Gardner Fords, and Zachariah Nettles had lands on both sides of the Wateree River (probably putting some of those lands in Kershaw County). Nettles was prominent in Fairfield County and was involved in serving as an agent of the court to inventory property of those who were deceased. - LaRue Foster
