Doshie appears to have been married to two Lenard's. Only Carl is clearly the son of Artemus Lenard. The rest of the children still need to be assigned one parent group.

Mother Of Winn Resident Dies In West Monroe
Mrs. Doshie Boyette Lenard, 82, of 906 Jonesboro Road, West Monroe, died Thursday, September 30, 1971 in St. Francis Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the United Pentecostal Church in West Monroe. Interment was in Garden of Memories Cemetery near West Monroe.

Survivors include three sons, James E. Lenard of Winnfield, Lloyd Lenard of Shreveport, Carl E. Lenard of West Monroe; four daughters, Mrs. Resie Fontenot, Mrs. Eva Wilhite, both of West Monroe, Mrs. Ella L. Hovey of Beaumont, Tex., and Lt. Col. Esther Lenard Bowman of Alexandria; a brother, Francis R. Boyett of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Dan Spencer of Winnfield and Mrs. Bettye Hughes of Taylor, Ark.; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Decendant's of the Boyett family reunion,celebrating the life & times of Daniel Boyett & Talitha Underwood was held June 2, 2001 in Winnfield.
Decendants present of the children of the couple were:
John William Boyett & wife Cynthia James (From the Pioneer James Family of Winn Parish), and John's brother
James Matthew Boyett & wife Laura Alice Brian.

In the year 1850 Daniel Boyett, his wife Talitha Underwood, Bennett J Boyett (brother of Daniel) and Bennett's wife Fatama Underwood (sister of Talitha) & friend of the Boyett family Timothy F. Smith & wife Sarah came over from what was then Crenshaw/Covington Co., Alabama and settled in the area once called the Clear Water Community of the parish. Daniel Boyett, Bennett J Boyett & Timothy F. Smith were some of the first land owners of the parish.

23 decendants & spouses of Daniel & Talitha gathered for the reunion. Decendant's of Daniel Boyett's son's John William Boyett born 1843 in Alabama, died 1910 in Winn Parish, & his brother James Matthew Boyett born 1856 in Winn died 1913 in Winn Parish gathered at the "ROOM" on Hwy 84 west.

Several Grand children of James & John were present.
Grandchildren of James Matthew Boyett & Laura Alice Brian: (1). Marvin Boyett Sr. from Bridge City, Texas (son of Thomas Harvey Boyett) (2). Mural Hughes Kirkpatrick from Taylor, Arkansas (daughter of Celia Elizabeth Boyett Hughes) (3). Lloyd Lenard from Shreveport,La (son of Doshie Boyett Lenard) . Lloyd Lenard has written an exciting novel about the conflict raging over the Confederate Flag. This is available in book stores May 2001. Tittled: The Last Confederate Flag.

Great-Grandchildren Of James Matthew Boyett were: William (Dub) Kirkpatrick Marvin Boyett Jr. Becky Platt GG-grandchild: Logan Boyett Marvin Boyett Sr. was accompanied by his son Marvin Boyett Jr.,his son Logan Boyett & Becky Platt all from Bridge City, Texas. Mural Kirkpatrick was accompanied with her son William "Dub' Kirkpatrich Jr. & his wife Jackie Kirkpatrick all of Taylor, Arkansas.

Lloyd Lenard was accompanied by his lovley wife Sky Lenard from Shreveport,La.

James Robert Boyett was accompanied by his daugher Susie Boyett Hodge, husband Vernon Hodge.And Susie & Vernon's daughter Victoria Hodge all of West Monroe,La. Dale William Boyett was accompanied by his 3 children, son The Rev. Michael Boyett & wife Caroline from Natchitoches,La.Son Robert Scott Boyett from Metairie,La & daughter Brenda Boyett Keith of Fairhope, Alabama. Norma Jean Rozelle came by her self.

After the reunion decendant's visited the grave site of Daniel Boyett (father of John & James) born 1816 and died 1860.Susie Boyett Hodge looked for 6 months for this lost Boyett Field Cemetery in hopes that it would be a part of the reunion. She was able to find it April 1, 2001. The head stone that is 141 years old ,is made of solid marble and was intact! Susie believes that this was the first time in over 80 years that this grave site was viewed by any of Daniel Boyett's decendant's.

Mrs. Sarah Weems of Beech Creek Dies on Her 79th Birthday Mrs. S. J. Harper, Miss Maude Harper, Mrs. Stella Jones and sons, Paul, Johnny, and Bobby Ray, and Mrs. Nellie Willis attended the funeral of Mrs. Harper's sister, Mrs. Sarah Weems, at Beech Creek Church on last Wednesday. The services were conducted by Rev. Henry Lewis of Bentley. Surviving Mrs. Weems are the following sons and daughters, Mrs. Minnie Ryan of El Dorado, Ark., Walter Weatherford of Beech Creek Community, Johnny Weatherford of Riverton, Mrs. Evy Hand and Commodore Weems of Beech Creek, and 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Three sisters also survive, Mrs. S. J. Harper of Winnfield, Mrs. W. H. McCarty of Flat Creek, and Mrs. J. C. Newsom of Grayson. Mrs. Weems passed away after only a few days illness in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hand, on Tuesday, April 26, at 4:30 p.m. on her 79th birthday. Her family and all other relatives join together in extending thanks to all friends who so kindly assisted and furnished the beautiful floral offerings for this sad occasion. Tom C. Weems Dies; Burial At Zion Hill
Funeral services for Tom C. Weems, 84, of Winnfield, who died at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 1966, in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Mr. Weems was a native of Nacogdoches, Tex., and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow; five sons, Elaska V. Weems, New Orleans, Ulysses Weems, New York, and Floyd, Dudley, and Joe Weems, all of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Dora Johns, Winnfield, Mrs. Clara Grass, Metairie, and Mrs. Dorothy Bilello, Thibodeaux; one brother, Ira Weems, Waldo, Ark., two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Jordan and Mrs. Ida Jordan, both of Winnfield, and 14 grandchildren.
