Emma Eliza Albritton

Submitted by Timothy Hudson
The Farmerville Gazette Wednesday, 5 Jan 1898, page 3, column 3 "IN MEMORY OF MISS EMMA ALBRITTON.
She is gone, but not forever, We shall meet her bye and bye, In that bright and heavenly land, Where the angels dwell forever. 'Twas sad, the parting, But she is ever at her rest. Free from all trials and worries Of this sinful world. A truer, kinder one never lived, A nobler heart one never owned, A lovelier character one never had, Than this dear one, who has gone to Heaven. May our Heavenly Father comfort us, In this our troubled hour, For he will hear all our prayers, Will bear our griefs and give us power. A Friend"
"After an illness of several days with slow fever Miss Emma Albritton, daughter of Mr. Enoch Albritton of this parish, died last Thursday afternoon at Natchitoches. Her father accompanied by Dr. J. G. Taylor reached her bedside the day prior to her death, in time to be recognized by his daughter. Miss Emma Albritton had laid aside a small sum of money by teaching for the past few years in the country schools of this parish, with which she intended to complete her education; but, alas! relentless death claimed her as his own and took her young life away. Her remains were brought to Farmerville Friday evening, and laid to rest Saturday in the Taylor cemetery near town. THE GAZETTE extends deep sympathy to the bereaved relatives and friends." [Note: Emma Albritton died 30 Dec 1897.]
